decisions...decisions...

I don't do well making decisions...esp making big decisions. I feel like the last month has been full of big decisions. A load of stress has been taking off my chest this weekend, I bought a new car! I am so thankful for my dad who helped me out so much and Travis for being patient with me :) I got a 2001 GMC Yukon, it has extremely low miles and in in next to excellent condition for it's age. I am so happy! I have wanted a Tahoe/Yukon for years and it is so nice to finally have one. People probably thing I am crazy for buying a V8 when gas is so high, but my daily commute consists of a 20 mile circle...if that. If I had to drive more everyday then I would have re thought that decision. I feel like I made a pretty good one!

Kelsey had a great birthday. After we got done at the car dealership...buying a car takes WAY to long. Sarah was waiting to hang out with Kelsey for her bday. We went and had some $1 tacos at Moe's, went and walked around Wal-Mart and had yogurt at Menchies. When we came home it was time to go to Kelsey's birthday dinner. She picked to have dinner at Chili's so they would sing to her. We had a lot of fun! We order a different dessert along with the general bday dessert, Kelsey picked the chocolate molten cake. I am not sure who liked it more...Kelsey, Koltyn or my Dad. It was a fight between 4 of us trying to get a bite. Hayden was a smart boy he went to the other end of the table and enjoying his brownie and ice cream in peace. HAHA.

This morning Travis got up and took Kelsey and our nephew Koltyn bike riding. Hayden was running a little fever so we stayed home to rest. Hayden ended up helping me clean the house, finally! I still have to give my bedroom some attention, but I feel so much better having a clean kitchen/dining/and living room. Now everyone is sleeping, while I blog and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Everyone keep my cousin Amanda and her new baby boy in your prayers, please. Liam was born on 9/12 and has spent a few days in the NICU. They are hoping he gets to come home soon! Fingers crossed :)

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Holiday Week

I have so much to update yall on, the problem is I don't even know where to start.

In my last post I said we were going to be house sitting for a week and with the holiday and work and just being busy I haven't had time to write a meaningful post.

House/dog sitting was fun! It was nice to get away from our house for a few days and we treated it like a mini vacation. I got to spend some much needed time with my best friend, we went to the lake, went swimming, got a new hair do and just relaxed.

We went out with our friends on their cabin cruiser to watch fireworks on the lake for the 4th. It was a lot of fun, fireworks on the lake is def something everyone needs to see. The kids loved being in the water and swimming.

I cut all my hair off... well not all of it but like 5 inches. Then I put red and blonde highlights in it. I really like it and I needed a change. Travis wasn't sure at first but now when he sees me he walks around saying hey sexy hair...I guess that is a good thing, right? Kelsey and Hayden both got a haircut also, 3 for the price of 1!

The kids and I spent a day with my best friend also. We took the kids to Catch Air, wow I thought the kids would LOVE it....well they did and Sarah and I both got a work out. We went to lunch at Chick-fl-a and while we were eating we had a spur of the moment idea to go visit the cupcake shop we did our class at. I had been trying to talk Travis into going there but it was a big fail...so we went! Still good :)

My boys waiting for the fireworks on the lake

Kelsey at Catch Air ( notice the red face...yea it was hot!)

Me and my girl at a baby shower for my cousin :)
before hair cuts....

Hayden at Catch Air...
Hayden and I had to come home on Wednesday afternoon to get ready for work on Thursday, I worked 2 days then headed back to be with Travis and Kelsey for the weekend and finish house sitting. We came home on Sunday afternoon to catch up on laundry and get the house back together. It was a great week, but we are so glad to be home :)

Catch up Monday

How was everyone's weekend??

Mine was good, busy!

I took Tonka to the vet on Friday night, they said he has fleas...I think they just wanted my money. We haven't seen ANY fleas on him at all. He has been itching for weeks so we would have seen them by now right?? Anyway $100 later he is on antiboditic and a steriod for a gew days.

Saturday I worked at the barn for lessons then got to ride. It was SOOO hot out. I am so glad to be out there helping and riding again. After I got home I took a shower and ended up crashing for like 3 hours.

Travis planned a date night for us on Saturday...well he got a babysitter, so we went to dinner at Red Lobster. Which is one of his favoirte places, I dont eat seafood but Travis LOVES it and really enjoyed himself. It was fun being together alone for a few hours.

Sunday I went out to the barn again to help with lessons... way to hot to ride this time!

I did go look at a horse today though....She is a 14 year old stock breeding paint. She is pretty dang cute and sweet. I didn't ride her today because I didn't have a saddle but the little girl who owns her did. She seems very broke and something that I would have a lot of fun on. Hayden and Kelsey both sat on her and we had no issues. I am going back later this week to ride her :) Here are some pictures of her.

Weekend Preview

I am looking forward to having my husband and daughter home this afternoon! I know that Hayden will also be very happy to see them.

Last night when I got home, I found a dead squirrel head and tail waiting for me on my front porch...um gross. Our kitty is bringing us presents, apparently that means she likes us?? I wish she would maybe show it in a different way.

I am caving and taking Tonka to the vet this afternoon, hopefully we can get this itchy skin thing under control.

Tonight after the vet and picking my boy up we are headed to the butcher shop by our house for our meat stock up, then maybe Kohl's, and after our Friday night pizza dinner we are going to the grand opening of a yogurt shop that opened about 1/2 mile from our house. This could be a really bad thing. We have been looking at the coming soon sign for months and every time we pass it we have to stop and see how the work is coming. I have a feeling we will be on a first name basis with the people that work there.

Tomorrow: Barn in the morning :) hopefully in the afternoon I will be able to go look at a horse and a saddle then my sweet husband is planning a date night! It is very much needed..we haven't been out alone since our anniversary in February. I really wish we could have a bi weekly date night--might have to work on that!

Sunday- Right now I have no plans. That will change though. I am thinking Travis will want to go fishing at some point this weekend and I need to spend some time doing my laundry and cleaning duties.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.. if it is supposed to be hot where you are like it is here stay cool! Summer has arrived!!

Weekend Rewind- Memorial Day Edition

I hope everyone had a relaxing 3 day weekend ( if you had yesterday off). We had a busy weekend, it was fun just busy.

I read Fifty Shades of Grey, this weekend. I know some people who have read and who are reading it and wanted to know what it was all about. Yes I had heard the general concept, but people kept telling me it there was a story behind it beyond the obvious. When the book started I was pretty disgusted but as I got into it I really liked it! Yes Christian Grey is strange but I am told the 2nd book gets better. I am borrowing my moms Kindle to read it. Has anyone else read it? What are your thoughts?

Here is a little ( long) recap of our weekend:

Friday-

We went to Kelsey's graduation, I did really well until they sang a song about going to Kindergarten.. then I almost lost it but I was good :) Her class did such a great job on all their songs! Kelsey got the award for being the biggest helper in her class!

After graduation we headed to the lake for the after prek after party! We had a great time, it was fun letting the kids play together and talking to some of the parents. I wish we had done it at the beginning of the year instead of the end, but it is ok! We were talking at dinner and I realized that I went to high school with one of the other moms there. It is crazy because normally we are the youngest ones and even though she graduated a year before me, I felt like I wasn't so young! I always have a hard time with that...knowing I am usually 10 years younger than any of the other moms there...but there was no judgement with these ladies, we had a great time :) The teachers even showed up for a few minutes and the kids thought that was so cool! We stayed there until dark and headed home, I was ready to go to bed!
Prek after party :)

Saturday-

We got up Sat morning, went to breakfast and went shopping for a while. It was nice not having any real plans that morning. I got a message from a mom from Kelsey's class and she said that there was a "glow" party Saturday night at a place called Adventure Kids. We had never been and it sounded like fun! I am glad we went. Kelsey and Hayden had a blast. Two of the boys that Kelsey is really good friends with were also there. They are the 2 kids that have been together since they were 1 years old.

Chase, Kelsey and Tanner

Kelsey and Chase... they have been "boyfriend/girlfriend for 4 years :)

Best Buddies

Sunday-

We got up early and went up to my aunts house to trade clothes with my cousin, she is pregnant with a little girl and has a 2 1/2 year old boy, so we traded :) They live on the lake and Hayden loved going down to the dock and seeing the water. After that we just hung around the house, took a nap and after dinner we went to a park on the lake by the house to walk around and let Tonka run. We found out that we have a water dog! He loves it, and he is a great swimmer :) He jumped right in after his sticks and did great. Hayden thinks he is a water dog to and tried to run in after Tonka....resulting in wet shorts!
5 Months old- Can you believe it?

Monday-

Travis had to finish up a side job so I was on my own, I needed to clean the house, but just couldn't get motivated to do it. So I decided to get caught up on the laundry. It is almost all done just needs to be put away. I got Kelsey and Hayden's rooms cleaned and laundry put away so that made me feel better. We cooked out on the grill for dinner and headed back to the lake to let the kids swim for a little bit. Kelsey jumps right in and so does Hayden. Tonka was the same as the night before he jumps in and goes underwater! Travis and I called him a submarine dog. I started to go in the water with Hayden and Tonka came running in and swimming after me, but when Travis did it he stayed on the shore... He would come out with me make a circle around us and swim to the shore..we might have a problem if I go swimming in a pool with him around.

Today everyone is back at work. Kelsey is spending the week with my mother in law so our house will be somewhat quiet..Hayden is going to be so lost without his sister!

That is right!! We have nothing on the books! I have no idea what we are going to do, and I LOVE IT. I hope we get to spend lots of family time together and just have a fun weekend. I hope to take lots of pictures of everything this weekend and of course will have a update next week.

I also hope to once again have a working computer hooked up at home so I can blog from home again. Next week I have 2 product reviews to do and a giveway so look forward to that!

Weekend Rewind :)

I suppose I will make this a weekly thing.

Friday- After work and dinner we headed to the mall to take Hayden to make his paci bear. I saw online that build a bear had a cow and since he loves them I figured we would leave with that one, but I was wrong. He picked a camo bear instead. He wasn't interested at all in making it though. He did put the heart in and the paci in but wouldn't do anything else. As the weekend went on he started to become more interested in it, he gets so excited when he sees it and shows us where the paci is...cute stuff!

Saturday- I got up early to head to the barn to help with some lessons and help evaluate a pony for therapy lessons and summer camp. Lessons went great, I always have so much fun. The eval went wonderful to...anyone looking for a awesome pony let me know! She is here on lease for the summer but is also up for sale! "Jasmine" came from a owner who has CP so she knows the therapy part, but she is also a western pleasure and hunter/jumper trained...wow. Lets just say she will clean up at a WP show. Her little pony trot is wonderful when she frames up. I got the chance to hop on her for a little bit...it was a funny site I might add but it was fun :)

Travis left to go camping soon after I got home, and the kids were taking a nap. I cleaned up a little and when they woke up we headed over to Shari neighborhood pool. Kelsey is a fish and Hayden has always been timid near a pool, but not anymore! I have never heard a kid laugh so much! He loved it. Thank you Mrs. Shari for such a fun time :) After we swam we went to visit my parents for a few minutes and then headed home. I caught up on a few things off the DVR but was so tired I went to bed pretty early.

Sunday- of course my children woke up before it was even light outside! We just hung around the house and Travis came home around 9, then the kids took a early nap and I did some more cleaning/laundry/DVR catch up. When they woke up Travis played with them why I went a took a nap. When I got up we went grocery shopping, came home, had baths, went to bed and here we are....

Just in case you all are wondering...my garden is doing ok! Everything looks like it will survive. Our cucumbers aren't standing anymore, but I think that is the way they are supposed to be. There are tons of buds and blooms on everything, so maybe this week we will have little veggies popping up!.

I hope everyone has a great week :)

Friday, May 18

Finally Friday

I am pretty glad it is Friday! This is the first weekend in a long time that we don't have plans every minute and I might even get some time to clean :) As I said earlier this week, Travis is going camping tomorrow night. He is ultra excited and I feel like a horrible wife because I am not excited at all. We don't spend a lot of time together during the week, so I want him all weekend, but I will live. Doesn't mean I will be happy about it though.

Tomorrow morning I am going to head to help out with some Therapeutic riding lessons and I think in the afternoon I am going to take the kids swimming at "Mrs" Shari's pool. I am going to try to keep it a secret because I know Kelsey will be SO excited... and Hayden to. I think our plans for Sat. night are going to be the following...get really tired at the pool and pass out early :) the kids at least then I can enjoy my glass of wine and DVR. We have almost no room to record new shows since I haven't been able to watch anything lately. I need some serious DVR clean up time and of course it is supposed to be beautiful this weekend, so I can't justify laying on the couch inside.

So you know how I blogged yesterday about how proud I was of my garden..yea. We had this huge storm last night and when we got home from Dahlonegha, everything in our garden was flat on the ground. I am hoping and praying that as the day goes on they get happy and stand back up.

Last night we went to a photo gallery, showing type thing at North GA college for Mrs. Shari. We are so proud of her for completing her course and she is now a certified photographer!!!! Anyway this picture I am putting on here is of Hayden at the college.

He always cracks me up...but everytime we are out and I see flowers we stop and smell them, so this is Hayden stopping to smell the flowers. I think everyone should stop and smell the flowers every once in a while.

Weekend Rewind

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

We had a busy Friday night going to a baby shower for some friends, we had a good time. Driving home was a different story...I was having major problems staying awake! While we were in the area we got to hang out with Travis' friend Josh, who I haven't seen in a while. Kelsey loved him and his snakes! She kept asking him when we could go back and see the snakes again...silly girl!

After Friday night we have a very eventful weekend...

-We took Tonka to the vet Saturday morning.... he is a crazy boy! He is 20 weeks old and weighs 41.6 pounds! The vet said he is healthy and looks great and is ready to be neutered...

-Travis had his final exam for school and made an 84! He is done with his schooling now..FINALLY! If everything checks out he will take his licensing exam in July.

- Hayden's paci went bye bye on Saturday before nap time. I was expecting him to take it horribly, but I was very surprised when he only cried for a few minutes. Then Saturday night he cried a little more, but only woke up once and calmed down really fast. Last night he went right to bed and slept all night!! I am so glad it went well and he will be getting to make his paci bear in the next week or so!

-Kelsey lost her first tooth!!!  She has been wiggling and wiggling and on Saturday night she said to me I think it is about to fall out, well it was. Travis pretty much touched it and it came out. She freaked out for a few minutes, but then was so excited! The tooth fairy came and deposited $1 under her pillow. ( apparently our tooth fairy is cheap?)

- Sunday was Mother's day, I got to go back to bed, then was served breakfast in bed... I loved it! Since it was raining we just hung out around the house for a while watching TV and then headed to my cousins graduation party.

-Graduation party was fun! I love seeing all my extended family we don't get it see very often. It is crazy to be that all of us cousins are growing up, getting married, starting families...doesn't seem possible.

-After the party we headed to my parents house to celebrate their birthdays! My brother stopped and picked up some wings, and Travis and I got a pie for them. We had a good time just hanging out as a family. My brothers live about 40 minutes from us so we don't see them enough either.

Yes I know this looks dangerous... Travis was standing right next to Hayden!

I have to give a little story about the 108...no my parents aren't that old. Travis is a funny man and at Publix he didn't want to buy 4 candles so he decided to buy 3...and add my parents birthdays together... so 55+53=108 (in case you didn't know)

 Happy Birthday Dad!
My dad, Kelsey, & Hayden

What is everyone up to this weekend?

I have been signed up with a company called bzzagent for few years, and have taken part in a couple of programs with them, but I am trying to get more involved. I just signed up to do a campaign for Private Selections...from Kroger. I am pretty excited! They are sending me coupons to try some meat, some pies, and ice cream :) I will try to blog about it all very soon.

I will leave you with a picture from Muffins w/Mom this morning at the daycare...its also RED shirt Friday

I hope everyone has a great weekend! Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!

Tye Dye Cake

I am addicted to Pintrest. end of story.

I "pinned" this cake a while ago and thought, that would be cute, but it looks difficult. I saw some tye-dye cupcakes online this past week for St. Pattys day and decided to try to cake. I read on a blog (not sure which one) that I shoudl use 2 cake mixes to make the cake fuller, if you will.  This cake wasn't my idea, and I am not trying to steal the idea from anyone.

I had no motiviation on Saturday and really didn't want to make the cake but I wanted to at the same time. While Hayden was napping I decided what the heck, just do it.

I mixed the cake following the directions on the back of the box, I did each cake seperate so I it was easier to measure. I started off my measuring out 1 1/2 cups into individual bowls, but in the end I think it was closer to 2- 2 1/2 cups in each bowl. It wasn't perfectly measured out either, but it was ok. Then you put the batter in your cake pans. I was making 2 round cakes. The first pan I started with red and worked through my colors ending with purple. Then the next I started with purple and ended with red. I scooped about 1 cup of each color into the first pan...if i knew there was more batter of that color I added a little more. With the second pan I just used what I had left. One cake was fuller than the other, but that didnt matter to much. I wasn't sure on the baking time so I put them in for 30 mins and one cake was done the other wasn't. I put in back in for about 10 mins and it was fine. I let them cool put them on plates and frosted them later in the evening.

Here are the pictures of the cake before and after!

Batter all colored. I used: Red, yellow, green, blue and purple. The blue and purple were neon food coloring and they are very bright in the mix.
In the pans all ready to go!

Frosted Cake :O

Inside a little closer

Hayden loving his cake!

I am no chef or baker, but I have to give myself credit and say I did a really good job!

Getting a little dusty around here...

I have been MIA lately... I am blaming every bit of it on my son. His sickness is still lingering around. I am crossing my fingers to say that I "think" it is finally gone, but I won't be surprised if I get a phone call saying he is sick again. I think my work just laughs when I call and say ummm Hayden threw up again. The doctor did a stool culture last Thursday, so we hopefully better know something today.

I wanted to go help out with weekend with the therapy lessons, but I felt bad leaving Hayden with someone esp since we have no idea what it going on.

So this weekend consisted of cleaning, organizing and more cleaning. I am the type of person that the little things matter most. So I cleaned my hall closet and laundry room. I don't do well with clutter and my husband doesn't understand that at all. I am in the process of redecorating Hayden's room, it's going to be a cowboy theme :) I decided I am obsessed with western decor... our hallway/kids bathroom is cowboy theme and his bedroom is going to be also..a little much? no I don't think so!

We went to the lake yesterday to walk around since it was so nice outside. One of our photographer friends came along, so if I get some pictures I will def. share! We took Tonka with us and I guess I am not used to a dog getting attention. When we took Rocko with us, everyone always said what a pretty dog. end of story. With Tonka people swoon all over him....what a pretty boy, omg he is huge, look at those paws.... and I have to give them a warning that he has no manners yet.

So this post is really random...if you got this far I am proud :)

Have a Happy Monday!

Monday Funday!

I hope everyone is having fun on this wonderful Monday!

How was your weekend?

Ours was pretty uneventful. Winter has finally come to GA, it was pretty chilly this weekend. Then I was listening to the weather this morning and it said expect the high 60s later this week.. Ummm...Hello weather people, my sinuses need a break! We decided to keep 1 kitty. The others disappeared and we haven't seen them since, so we thought the least we could do was let the little one in.. We aren't sure if it is a boy or girl but Travis named it Jinx. I will be taking it to the vet in a few weeks to get it all checked out :) Tonka loves the cat, they play with each other and chase each other around the house. Jinx mastered the litter box in one day...I wish potty training Tonka was this easy.

Saturday afternoon, my sister in law came over for dinner. We had a good time, it was nice to spend time with my niece. She is a busy little girl :)  Then Travis and I watched Breaking Dawn pt 1. I saw it in theaters, but he didn't and I really had no problem watching it again.

Like I said our weekend didn't consist of much, but I love every minute that I get to spend with my family.

Does anyone have any big Valentine's day plans? not. us. Travis will be gone all week, so we will be celebrating this weekend along with our anniversary!

Tuesday, August 23

What a week

and it is only Tuesday!

My week has already been crazy. This weekend was pretty busy though. It was Travis birthday and we had our first date night in over a year without the kids! I was one happy girl :) We got given tickets to the braves game, so it was a first for both of us going to the game and we had so much fun just being together. It was def. needed. Then Sunday, being the awesome wife that I am I planned a semi- surprise party for Travis. It was just family over but we had homemade sandwich ring and homemade Oreo ice cream cake :)

Zeus got a new home :( I was so sad. Our landlord advised us to keep looking for a home for him, so I took that as get him a home quick! I don't want to jeopardize were I am living. I believe I found a great home and he is going to be so happy!

Sunday night Hayden started feeling pretty crummy, so yesterday it was off to the doctor we went and they told us he has a double ear infection...he was one crabby man this morning. I hope he starts feeling better soon.

Then last night I am sitting on the couch and I got this awful electrical current type feeling in my tooth, I started freaking out because this hasn't ever happened before. I have self-diagnosed myself and decided that one of the wisdom teeth have hit a nerve in my mouth, so about every 20 mins or so I get this lovely feeling. I was seeing stars last night and crying in bed until my wonderful husband gave me some pain medicine. I was our within 30 minutes or so and had no pain until I woke up this morning. I am making an appointment with the dentist to get these lovely teeth out asap! I don't want to pay the money for them but I guess for my sanity and my husbands sleep I need to.

Well that is my weekend/week so far. I will be back in a little while to get some ideas from yall!

Tuesday, August 16

Weekend Recap

This weekend seems like it went by so fast, here I am at work again.

Friday- I am starting to clean my parent's house for some extra money....easy money why not? So I did that then got the kids from daycare and headed home. We got out usual Friday dinner out and ended up going straight home because I had crabby kids.

Sat- Travis worked all weeked so Sat. we spent at home most of the day. Except running some errands for my mom and visiting with her for a few minutes. I got Kelsey a Barbie movie out of the blockbuster box and her exact words were "You are the best mommy ever!"

Sunday- Travis was out working again by 7am. I had to go to Wal-Mart to get some lunch stuff and essentials that we needed. Rest of the day I spent cleaning and doing laundry. Travis got home late so we didn't do anything much.

Since I didn't get to post this on Monday I will add Monday in also!

Monday- Work, then I headed to Kohls to spend a 10 giftcard I got in the mail and couldn't find a dang thing! I hate it when that happens. I went and picked up my kiddos from daycare and headed to Kroger. I really dislike grocery shopping with them, but I had no choice. We did Kroger at record speed and headed home. I put away the cold stuff and let the dogs out and fed them really quick and we were off again. This time headed to Moe's to eat dinner and then Publix. We made it home right at 7pm...I left work at 3:15! Travis was working again so I did bath time and put Hayden to bed. Kelsey and I watched some TV until her bedtime then I just vegged out until Travis got home at 10:45!!!

My weekend was pretty uneventful how was yours?

Weekend Update!

This weekend just flew by!

Friday night I had an open house type party for Partylite Candles, Pampered Chef and Mary Kay..I worked so hard to get my house clean and decorated so it just looked perfect and the only people that showed up were my mom and my best friend, who have both seem my house everything in a disaster. The good side is that my show ended being a 380 show!!  So after the party "ended" my best friend and I joined our husbands out at the fire pit for some warmth and marshmallows! I need to take pictures of these marshmallows they are HUGE!

Travis has school on Sat. mornings, so I spent the morning being SOOO lazy. I did some laundry, straightened up and caught up on the DVR from the week. Then that afternoon the hospital I work at had there big Christmas tree lighting. It is a big huge FREE festival that we go to every year. They have food, Santa, face painting, balloon animals, a petting zoo and local entertainment. The only bad thing is it was rainy and cold and I was by  myself with both kids. Travis was fixing my cousins car that broke down..such a nice guy. After the tree was lit and we got back to the car, we met Travis for our weekly dinner at Moe's. At the one by us they have $1 chicken tacos every sat, with no limit!! We love it! Then we got our redbox movies: Eclipse and Grown Ups and headed home.

Sunday I had plans to take Kelsey to a horse rescue by us that was having their annual Christmas shindig. Since it was so cold out we opted to take Hayden to my moms so we could take Kelsey. She LOVED it! She is always talking about horses and riding....I don't know where she gets it from??? ha ha ya I do! The problem is every time we get around them she wants nothing to do with them. So, finally I got my wish....she found a miniature pony that according to her was just her size and was petting and loving on him like crazy. I kept looking and Travis and he was just smiling because I dream of the day when I can ride with her. She didn't want to leave the barn but since it was so cold we couldn't stay as long as she wanted. We got lunch, picked up the boy and went home to be lazy and get warm.

So, that was a long update, and as I was writing it I thought to myself I really need to start taking more pictures of things we do. I think it would make these posts much more interesting. I will leave you with a new picture of the little ones from last night.
