Holiday Week

I have so much to update yall on, the problem is I don't even know where to start.

In my last post I said we were going to be house sitting for a week and with the holiday and work and just being busy I haven't had time to write a meaningful post.

House/dog sitting was fun! It was nice to get away from our house for a few days and we treated it like a mini vacation. I got to spend some much needed time with my best friend, we went to the lake, went swimming, got a new hair do and just relaxed.

We went out with our friends on their cabin cruiser to watch fireworks on the lake for the 4th. It was a lot of fun, fireworks on the lake is def something everyone needs to see. The kids loved being in the water and swimming.

I cut all my hair off... well not all of it but like 5 inches. Then I put red and blonde highlights in it. I really like it and I needed a change. Travis wasn't sure at first but now when he sees me he walks around saying hey sexy hair...I guess that is a good thing, right? Kelsey and Hayden both got a haircut also, 3 for the price of 1!

The kids and I spent a day with my best friend also. We took the kids to Catch Air, wow I thought the kids would LOVE it....well they did and Sarah and I both got a work out. We went to lunch at Chick-fl-a and while we were eating we had a spur of the moment idea to go visit the cupcake shop we did our class at. I had been trying to talk Travis into going there but it was a big fail...so we went! Still good :)

Hayden and I had to come home on Wednesday afternoon to get ready for work on Thursday, I worked 2 days then headed back to be with Travis and Kelsey for the weekend and finish house sitting. We came home on Sunday afternoon to catch up on laundry and get the house back together. It was a great week, but we are so glad to be home :)

Easter Recap..family updates!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! Ours was a great day :) We went to Mass early with my parents and then headed to my Grandparents house to have a family brunch. I think the priests all got together and decided that this year was going to be very serious in terms of homily's go. Fr. Frank did an amazing job and said everything that needed to be said in a way where everyone sitting there could understand it. It was very eye opening, even Travis whispered in my ear..wow this guy is awesome!

The Easter bunny visited the kids, but not the extent of some pictures I have seen. They both go bubble guns and a chocolate bunny...along with a HUGE container of refill bubbles to share. I don't like that some people treat Easter like Christmas. It has turned into such a Hallmark holiday...not right at all. I do love eating jellybeans and Reece's eggs, but lets not forget why we are celebrating in the first place.

We got the coveted letter this past weekend with the decision for Kelsey's school. She is accepted!!! I am thrilled and feel very blessed to have this opportunity for her. She is over the moon excited and thinks that she should start now :)

I have some pictures from Easter to share...

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine's Day!

This is what the kids woke up to today :)

They were excited, Hayden just wanted to eat his...but I didn't think his teachers would appreciate a 20 month old hyped up on chocolate at 7:30am!

Kelsey was very excited to take her Valentines to school today. We were working on the names last night (she wrote them all by herself!) and she picked out certain ones for certain people. This one is to her "friend" Chase. Arranged marriage in 20 years is all I have to say :)

I made a peanut free valentine's day trail mix for Hayden's class party last night. It turned out pretty cute...we saved some for us! You could easily switch things around to make it work with any holiday.

Ingredients:
-4 cups of mini pretzels  I used the square ones so I only did 3 cups
-4 cups of strawberry cheerios  I used regular bc I had them, and Kroger didn't have the others, 3 cups
- 2 cups of yogurt covered rasins
-2 cups of dried cranberries/cherries  I used cranrasins
- 1 box of chocolate teddy grahams Kroger didn't have these either! I used chocolate animal crackers
- 2 cups of valentines m&ms   I used the whole bag minus a few that went in my mouth :)

February Photo Challenge.... I am slacking big time! Today the 14th is heart. I was lucky because this is what the doctors at my work did for breakfast!

Weekend Update!

This weekend just flew by!

Friday night I had an open house type party for Partylite Candles, Pampered Chef and Mary Kay..I worked so hard to get my house clean and decorated so it just looked perfect and the only people that showed up were my mom and my best friend, who have both seem my house everything in a disaster. The good side is that my show ended being a 380 show!!  So after the party "ended" my best friend and I joined our husbands out at the fire pit for some warmth and marshmallows! I need to take pictures of these marshmallows they are HUGE!

Travis has school on Sat. mornings, so I spent the morning being SOOO lazy. I did some laundry, straightened up and caught up on the DVR from the week. Then that afternoon the hospital I work at had there big Christmas tree lighting. It is a big huge FREE festival that we go to every year. They have food, Santa, face painting, balloon animals, a petting zoo and local entertainment. The only bad thing is it was rainy and cold and I was by  myself with both kids. Travis was fixing my cousins car that broke down..such a nice guy. After the tree was lit and we got back to the car, we met Travis for our weekly dinner at Moe's. At the one by us they have $1 chicken tacos every sat, with no limit!! We love it! Then we got our redbox movies: Eclipse and Grown Ups and headed home.

Sunday I had plans to take Kelsey to a horse rescue by us that was having their annual Christmas shindig. Since it was so cold out we opted to take Hayden to my moms so we could take Kelsey. She LOVED it! She is always talking about horses and riding....I don't know where she gets it from??? ha ha ya I do! The problem is every time we get around them she wants nothing to do with them. So, finally I got my wish....she found a miniature pony that according to her was just her size and was petting and loving on him like crazy. I kept looking and Travis and he was just smiling because I dream of the day when I can ride with her. She didn't want to leave the barn but since it was so cold we couldn't stay as long as she wanted. We got lunch, picked up the boy and went home to be lazy and get warm.

So, that was a long update, and as I was writing it I thought to myself I really need to start taking more pictures of things we do. I think it would make these posts much more interesting. I will leave you with a new picture of the little ones from last night.
