Weekend Rewind :)

I suppose I will make this a weekly thing.

Friday- After work and dinner we headed to the mall to take Hayden to make his paci bear. I saw online that build a bear had a cow and since he loves them I figured we would leave with that one, but I was wrong. He picked a camo bear instead. He wasn't interested at all in making it though. He did put the heart in and the paci in but wouldn't do anything else. As the weekend went on he started to become more interested in it, he gets so excited when he sees it and shows us where the paci is...cute stuff!

Saturday- I got up early to head to the barn to help with some lessons and help evaluate a pony for therapy lessons and summer camp. Lessons went great, I always have so much fun. The eval went wonderful to...anyone looking for a awesome pony let me know! She is here on lease for the summer but is also up for sale! "Jasmine" came from a owner who has CP so she knows the therapy part, but she is also a western pleasure and hunter/jumper trained...wow. Lets just say she will clean up at a WP show. Her little pony trot is wonderful when she frames up. I got the chance to hop on her for a little bit...it was a funny site I might add but it was fun :)

Travis left to go camping soon after I got home, and the kids were taking a nap. I cleaned up a little and when they woke up we headed over to Shari neighborhood pool. Kelsey is a fish and Hayden has always been timid near a pool, but not anymore! I have never heard a kid laugh so much! He loved it. Thank you Mrs. Shari for such a fun time :) After we swam we went to visit my parents for a few minutes and then headed home. I caught up on a few things off the DVR but was so tired I went to bed pretty early.

Sunday- of course my children woke up before it was even light outside! We just hung around the house and Travis came home around 9, then the kids took a early nap and I did some more cleaning/laundry/DVR catch up. When they woke up Travis played with them why I went a took a nap. When I got up we went grocery shopping, came home, had baths, went to bed and here we are....

Just in case you all are wondering...my garden is doing ok! Everything looks like it will survive. Our cucumbers aren't standing anymore, but I think that is the way they are supposed to be. There are tons of buds and blooms on everything, so maybe this week we will have little veggies popping up!.

I hope everyone has a great week :)

That feeling..

Do you every get that feeling? The one where you think "this is where I belong" or "this is what I want". I had that this weekend and it isn't going away... for now at least.

A few months ago I saw an ad on Craigslist for theraputic riding lessons, well a littl background... One of my far out dreams is to one day own my own barn and be able to do hippotherapy/ theraputic riding lessons. So needless to say I was excited. I e-mailed back and forth with the lady a few times and finally was able to set up a day to meet with her and talk about volunteering. That was last Sunday, I stopped by as she was finishing up her last lesson. It was so relaxed and informal...just the way I like it.

This past Sunday was my first day helping out, she was making up some of the Saturday lessons due to rain so it was a full morning. I was a little nervous because I haven't been around horses in a few months. It's like riding a bike right? I started off leading for the first lesson, then the second I side walked and the third I led again, but this little girl was able to get reins the 2nd half and I was more or less just walking a 1200 puppy dog.

Then I stuck around for her western lesson after the theraputic ones were over, that's when it all hit me. I was watching her teach and saw myself. When the little girl was having problems with the horse staying on the rail I wanted to jump in and try to help, but I had to catch myself...not my lesson not my place.

Since Sunday I have been looking online and searching high and low for a job at a barn. I don't even know if that is possible because I haven't been around horses recently, but I need to know for myself. I also know I just can't go out and open my own place or even have my own horse right now so this the next best thing...I think.

I have always been told if you don't put it out there then it won't happen, so I am putting it out there! I am being pulled toward this and I hope things work out :)

One of my dreams...check!

Not this past weekend but the one before that we did something new.. I wrote a post on that Friday about stress relief and was pretty down in the dumps. The weekend un uneventful and on Sunday morning we started doing yard work since it was a pretty day. I happened to look at facebook to see a post from someone saying they were ranch sorting at her barn that afternoon, and everyone was invitied. Well ranch sorting is like a rodeo compeition. It was so much fun and being around horses and a barn just made me SO happy!

Kelsey has always loved horses and talks about them constantly, but when she has the chance to be near them she freaks. I can't blame her they are huge animals and can be scary. We went down to see the barn and talk with our friend some. At first Kelsey was scared and wouldn't even look at the horses in the stalls. They were sticking their heads out of the bars and it freaked her out. Then I was turned around talking and I look to see this....

Then I went over to her because I was sooo happy. And she kept doing it. She was feeding him one strand of hay at a time...melt my heart.

Then we walked back up to the ring and she helped me lead a horse up it was so funny.

Then....she rode!!! AHHH with our friend but still she was on a horse and it wasn't a pony ride. Trust me it made my week :)
