decisions...decisions...

I don't do well making decisions...esp making big decisions. I feel like the last month has been full of big decisions. A load of stress has been taking off my chest this weekend, I bought a new car! I am so thankful for my dad who helped me out so much and Travis for being patient with me :) I got a 2001 GMC Yukon, it has extremely low miles and in in next to excellent condition for it's age. I am so happy! I have wanted a Tahoe/Yukon for years and it is so nice to finally have one. People probably thing I am crazy for buying a V8 when gas is so high, but my daily commute consists of a 20 mile circle...if that. If I had to drive more everyday then I would have re thought that decision. I feel like I made a pretty good one!

Kelsey had a great birthday. After we got done at the car dealership...buying a car takes WAY to long. Sarah was waiting to hang out with Kelsey for her bday. We went and had some $1 tacos at Moe's, went and walked around Wal-Mart and had yogurt at Menchies. When we came home it was time to go to Kelsey's birthday dinner. She picked to have dinner at Chili's so they would sing to her. We had a lot of fun! We order a different dessert along with the general bday dessert, Kelsey picked the chocolate molten cake. I am not sure who liked it more...Kelsey, Koltyn or my Dad. It was a fight between 4 of us trying to get a bite. Hayden was a smart boy he went to the other end of the table and enjoying his brownie and ice cream in peace. HAHA.

This morning Travis got up and took Kelsey and our nephew Koltyn bike riding. Hayden was running a little fever so we stayed home to rest. Hayden ended up helping me clean the house, finally! I still have to give my bedroom some attention, but I feel so much better having a clean kitchen/dining/and living room. Now everyone is sleeping, while I blog and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Everyone keep my cousin Amanda and her new baby boy in your prayers, please. Liam was born on 9/12 and has spent a few days in the NICU. They are hoping he gets to come home soon! Fingers crossed :)

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Happy 6th Birthday Kelsey!!

September 15, 2006- after 23 1/2 of the longest, intense, emtion filled hours in my whole life Kelsey Ann was born. She came into this world with a pop (literally--I had a nurse jump on me) and hasn't slowed down yet.

I can't believe my baby girl is 6 years old! She is the best thing that has ever happened to me :) I was young, some say too young, but I am a firm believer to this day that God has a huge plan for both of us.

Kelsey is the biggest dreamer I know, she reminds me of myself. It looks like she is going to take after my passion for horses, which makes me smile as big as I can. She is so so smart...sometimes too smart. My mom called her a pleaser the other day, and that couldn't be more true. She tries so hard to please everyone all the time. She is so caring and has such a gentle heart. We saw a sign the other day for a lost dog and she got so upset because that family was missing their dog...but she said maybe god made him an angel dog just like Rocko...I cried. She is an amazing big sister and is so patient with Hayden. Although she is def a girl and has some major attitude and hormone...watch out teen years. I am beyond blessed to be her mom.

Being a mom isnt easy at any age, becoming a mom at 19 is even harder. Kelsey has shown me so much the past 6 years and has made me realize how strong I am.

I love you Bug-- you will always be my little ladybug :)

Cupcake Decorating

Last night we celebrated my best friend's birthday, by going to a cupcake decorating class. Her nickname is cupcake- so it was a very fitting thing to do! She also loves to make/decorate cupcakes, as do I. I think in a another life I was a baker/cake decorator.

Anyway we went to a place called Miss. Mamie's, it is in Marietta, GA. We didn't get to meet Miss. Mamie herself but I can tell you this girl is amazing! We learned that she just turned 24!!! She opened the bakery when she was 21...wow! (makes you feel like your a loser) She was recently on the show Cupcake Wars and won. So it that tells you anything...this place is pretty wonderful. The ladies last night were all so nice and helpful! We asked lots of questions because well we are very nosey.

With this class you pay $30 and get to spend 2 hours learning a technique then decorate and take home 6 cupcakes. We learned how to make a fondant flower. I have always wanted to work with fondant...not as hard as I thought, but I was just making a flower. I am pretty impressed with our skills though. After the flowers we iced our cupcakes and took our flowers home to dry overnight.

Even though we got 6 cupcakes with the class I had to buy more. There was a chocolate cupcake with peanut butter frosting...umm heaven! I bought 2 of them thinking I would share one with my husband tonight...I ate one last night at 11pm and the whole time I thought wow this is huge but that didn't stop me from eating the whole thing. Kelsey was very impressed with my flowers this morning, her words were "Mommy I am so excited that you thought of me and made me pink flowers for MY cupcakes!" Yes why of course Kelsey I was thinking of you :) Hayden's eyes were huge and he was repeating cupcake, cupcake, cupcake... I didn't think he needed to consume one at 6:30am so despite both their efforts tantrums I promised we could eat them tonight.

Of course we took pictures:

If you are in the Marietta Square area, you must go check this place out! They told us they start every morning with about 20 different flavors to pick from so I take that as go early so you get a variety to pick from. I will be dragging my family down there very soon!

Weekend Rewind

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

We had a busy Friday night going to a baby shower for some friends, we had a good time. Driving home was a different story...I was having major problems staying awake! While we were in the area we got to hang out with Travis' friend Josh, who I haven't seen in a while. Kelsey loved him and his snakes! She kept asking him when we could go back and see the snakes again...silly girl!

After Friday night we have a very eventful weekend...

-We took Tonka to the vet Saturday morning.... he is a crazy boy! He is 20 weeks old and weighs 41.6 pounds! The vet said he is healthy and looks great and is ready to be neutered...

-Travis had his final exam for school and made an 84! He is done with his schooling now..FINALLY! If everything checks out he will take his licensing exam in July.

- Hayden's paci went bye bye on Saturday before nap time. I was expecting him to take it horribly, but I was very surprised when he only cried for a few minutes. Then Saturday night he cried a little more, but only woke up once and calmed down really fast. Last night he went right to bed and slept all night!! I am so glad it went well and he will be getting to make his paci bear in the next week or so!

-Kelsey lost her first tooth!!!  She has been wiggling and wiggling and on Saturday night she said to me I think it is about to fall out, well it was. Travis pretty much touched it and it came out. She freaked out for a few minutes, but then was so excited! The tooth fairy came and deposited $1 under her pillow. ( apparently our tooth fairy is cheap?)

- Sunday was Mother's day, I got to go back to bed, then was served breakfast in bed... I loved it! Since it was raining we just hung out around the house for a while watching TV and then headed to my cousins graduation party.

-Graduation party was fun! I love seeing all my extended family we don't get it see very often. It is crazy to be that all of us cousins are growing up, getting married, starting families...doesn't seem possible.

-After the party we headed to my parents house to celebrate their birthdays! My brother stopped and picked up some wings, and Travis and I got a pie for them. We had a good time just hanging out as a family. My brothers live about 40 minutes from us so we don't see them enough either.

Yes I know this looks dangerous... Travis was standing right next to Hayden!

I have to give a little story about the 108...no my parents aren't that old. Travis is a funny man and at Publix he didn't want to buy 4 candles so he decided to buy 3...and add my parents birthdays together... so 55+53=108 (in case you didn't know)

 Happy Birthday Dad!

Happy Birthday Hayden!

His birthday was on Monday the 7th. We ended up having a little party for him at the lake on Sunday afternoon. It was a perfect day and the party turned out to be wonderful. We are so thankful for the friends and family that made it!

We went shopping on Friday night looking for b-day gifts for the little guy. When we were are our local Academy sports I saw they had marked down a few power wheels on clearance...we talked about getting one but I cringed at the $300+ price tag. They had 3 marked down for lower than $160. We still were unsure and passed and went home. Then on Saturday afternoon Travis went back to take another look at them. Well they marked them down again, and I took it as a sign. We got a jeep...originally about $375-399 dollars for $130! SCORE! Needless to say we had one VERY happy little boy.

When Travis brought it out to him, he just giggled and giggled and then just walked around it,sat in it, then examined very part of it. It was so funny to watch. He also got a lawnmower that blows bubbles when it is pushed...loves it also! The lawnmower has been going everywhere with us this week..in the car, in bed, on walks, to dinner...if you get my drift. He also got some awesome water guns and sand toys and some clothes and books.

I took Hayden to his 2 year old well check on Tuesday, we got good news...no shots!! The doctor also agreed with me and decided it was time to take him off of dairy milk and switch him to almond milk full time. Something in the milk doesn't sit well with his stomach, and since we went on it a year ago he constantly has a snotty nose and bad diapers on and off. We have been doing half milk half almond milk lately, but now we will see if the full almond milk helps to see if we need to rule anything else out.

but he weighs 29lbs and is 35 1/2 inches tall! He is growing like a weed and she said he looks wonderful :)

Here are a few pictures of his cake and jeep... I didn't get any pictures at all barely...bad mom!

Cowboy Cookout!

Hayden man is 1! I can't believe it! Travis asked me how it was possible the other night, he said where has this year gone?

For his party we ended up doing a cowboy cookout at our house. We tried to keep it as simple as possible to save money and just make it easy for us. The pictures pretty much tell everything so I will just overload you now.
