Out of our hands

A lot of people woke up this morning very angry and upset...me included. I didn't and still don't understand why America voted the way they did. I went in to work and everyone had the same attitude. We all know the President isn't in control, God is but that is hard to remember sometimes. God knows why this happened and he has a reason for it. Like always we don't know why but one day we will.

It all goes back to my motto of the year..everything happens for a reason. Over the past few weeks a lot has happened in our lives.

-We found out our daycare that Kelsey started at when she was 1 an Hayden has always been at is closing. After getting over the initial shock I am heartbroken. Me and everyone who went there. Today was Hayden's last day there and it kills me to think he doesn't understand what is happening. Tomorrow his little world is going to turn upside down. I know it is happening for a reason, but why?
- Travis got laid off the day after I found out about the daycare. This is the 2nd time from this company..we are done. We kinda knew to expect it but at the same time it is always hard to accept. He is working a part time job when the guy needs him and collecting unemployment when he can. Another thing that we don't understand why it happened, but in the back of my mind I know there is a reason.
-I found out I have to go to court for the ticket I got from my accident in August. I am terrified. So totally scared. I am praying it all works out and I will just pay my fine and be on my way, but the thought of standing in a court room with the man I hit gives me nightmares...again it is happening for a reason.

I guess the whole theme of this post is most things is our lives are out of our control. I think that is one of the hardest things about trusting in God completely is letting him be in control. He wants us to trust in him and know that everything will work out and be ok, but we (i) want to keep fighting for control. I hate not knowing what is going to happen or why something is happening. Sometimes it might be better not to know, and I believe if we are meant to know we will find out when the time is right.
I just keep telling myself over and over...everything happens for a reason. God has a plan and I think a big part of that plan is to get us to give control to him and trust in him completely.

I hope everyone has a good night.

I will be back with a update on how Hayden did at his new school and a update on Kelsey soon!

Picture Catch up!

I have been MIA for a good long time. Life has gotten in the way and I have taken a step back from most everything except my family. We needed some time to re group and focus on the 4 of us. I think some times we get so caught up in the hustle of everyday life we forget to actually enjoy the life we are living. We had some stressful weeks after my wreck and with school starting and I felt like my world was falling apart. I spent a lot of time thinking and praying in those weeks that made me decide nothing..even house work needs to be put in front of my husband or kids. My kids won't remember the toys on the ground or the crumbs on the kitchen floor...what they will remember is that I was always stressed about cleaning I never had fun with them..

So we have been playing outside ALOT enjoying the beautiful fall weather GA has decided to give us this year. I am not complaining one bit I love it outside right now! We have our AC off and all the windows open. One morning the thermostat read 53....wow that's chilly! Don't worry the kids sleep in winter pjs and have plenty of blankets!

I guess the easiest way to update what we have been doing is through pictures. This way I can remember what we did and share the pictures at the same time...knocking 2 birds out with 1 stone!!!

I went to Special Olympics horse show with the barn I volunteer at in August.

We went to the rodeo and got to enjoy a wonderful sunset while waiting.

We no longer have a puppy! Tonka is now a 70lb beast!
I celebrated my 26th birthday with some great friends!

This girl in the picture on the right is the reason Travis and I met! I hadn't seen her in way to long!

I think that is about it for now. I probably forgot some and I hope to come back and blog about some others also.  I hope you enjoyed!

Fall Pictures

A few weeks ago we had some family pictures taken. I guess I jus figured you say smile and everyone will smile..ummm not so much. It takes Hayden some convincing to smile and this day was no different, then we have Kelsey who poses and poses and poses some more. It is really funny looking through all the pictures, normally when we finally got Hayden to smile Kelsey was looking away or has a very fake smile on. We got a bunch of good ones also! I am so excited to finally have pictures of all of us :) We are planning on do more in a few weeks in another place also!

I will be back with a longer post hopefully this weekend...I have a couple post to get ready :)

Do over anyone?

Have you ever had one of those mornings where you want to just start over? I am pretty sure everyone has...this morning was one for me.

Last night I went to bed VERY early...7pm early, and I paid for that this morning. When I woke up I immediately smelled poop. In my house it could be tons of things but the main 3: Hayden, Tonka, or Jinx.. My process of elimination I found a shredded dirty diaper shrewd from Hayden's room to my room..lovely. Then it looked like my family had WW III and then a tornado went through our living room/kitchen area. Toys, dirty clothes, dishes in the living room and all over the kitchen, some still on the kitchen table. This is all too much for me to process at 6am before any coffee. In the midst of all this I realize Kelsey didn't have a shower last night and probably needed one, her excuse...no one reminded her. Her lunch wasn't made either...ugh. Then as I am trying to get her out of the door and in my moms car, I trip over 2 pairs of Travis' size 13 shoes laying in the middle of the floor and almost bust my ass on our vacuum attachments. At this point I am done...Hayden wakes up in the middle of it all  and stumbles down the hallway, he came up to me and handed me my watch, Pandora bracelet and engagement ring...missing---wedding band! I don't know where I took them off last night so I don't even know where to look for it so I have naked hands today and feel so strange. I searched the 2 possible places and didn't find anything. I soon realized the scrub top I wanted to wear was still dirty, we are almost out of frozen waffles and after all that I remembered I had a  vaginal ultrasound at 8am to check on the placement of my IUD. I wanted to cry.

Everything went fine with the ultrasound, but I was still having a pity party about the other part of my morning. When I got to work at 9, I felt like I had ran a marathon.

Moral of the story: next time I think I am tired...I need to have a STRONG coffee and snap out of it. I will have to just be tired. Being unorganized and not prepared for the day are worse than being tired :)

Have you ever had a morning like this? What happened?

Update: My evening has been much better! and Kelsey found my ring :)

Reading

Kelsey just read me a book! I am so excited for her!!

She brought home this book from school today and her homework was to read it to us, she read it to me and then Travis and did amazing! I am so proud of her. She was sounding out words like crazy!!

I had a busy afternoon/evening... after work I went to the grocery store, picked up Hayden, made dinner, mowed the grass, pulled weeds, and trimmed bushes...then played outside with the kids, then came in after Travis got home and ate dinner. The kids both got baths and are in bed all by 7pm!

Tonight Bones and Dancing with the stars come on!

What are your fall TV must watch shows? Any new shows you are excited about this year?

decisions...decisions...

I don't do well making decisions...esp making big decisions. I feel like the last month has been full of big decisions. A load of stress has been taking off my chest this weekend, I bought a new car! I am so thankful for my dad who helped me out so much and Travis for being patient with me :) I got a 2001 GMC Yukon, it has extremely low miles and in in next to excellent condition for it's age. I am so happy! I have wanted a Tahoe/Yukon for years and it is so nice to finally have one. People probably thing I am crazy for buying a V8 when gas is so high, but my daily commute consists of a 20 mile circle...if that. If I had to drive more everyday then I would have re thought that decision. I feel like I made a pretty good one!

Kelsey had a great birthday. After we got done at the car dealership...buying a car takes WAY to long. Sarah was waiting to hang out with Kelsey for her bday. We went and had some $1 tacos at Moe's, went and walked around Wal-Mart and had yogurt at Menchies. When we came home it was time to go to Kelsey's birthday dinner. She picked to have dinner at Chili's so they would sing to her. We had a lot of fun! We order a different dessert along with the general bday dessert, Kelsey picked the chocolate molten cake. I am not sure who liked it more...Kelsey, Koltyn or my Dad. It was a fight between 4 of us trying to get a bite. Hayden was a smart boy he went to the other end of the table and enjoying his brownie and ice cream in peace. HAHA.

This morning Travis got up and took Kelsey and our nephew Koltyn bike riding. Hayden was running a little fever so we stayed home to rest. Hayden ended up helping me clean the house, finally! I still have to give my bedroom some attention, but I feel so much better having a clean kitchen/dining/and living room. Now everyone is sleeping, while I blog and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Everyone keep my cousin Amanda and her new baby boy in your prayers, please. Liam was born on 9/12 and has spent a few days in the NICU. They are hoping he gets to come home soon! Fingers crossed :)

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Happy 6th Birthday Kelsey!!

September 15, 2006- after 23 1/2 of the longest, intense, emtion filled hours in my whole life Kelsey Ann was born. She came into this world with a pop (literally--I had a nurse jump on me) and hasn't slowed down yet.

I can't believe my baby girl is 6 years old! She is the best thing that has ever happened to me :) I was young, some say too young, but I am a firm believer to this day that God has a huge plan for both of us.

Kelsey is the biggest dreamer I know, she reminds me of myself. It looks like she is going to take after my passion for horses, which makes me smile as big as I can. She is so so smart...sometimes too smart. My mom called her a pleaser the other day, and that couldn't be more true. She tries so hard to please everyone all the time. She is so caring and has such a gentle heart. We saw a sign the other day for a lost dog and she got so upset because that family was missing their dog...but she said maybe god made him an angel dog just like Rocko...I cried. She is an amazing big sister and is so patient with Hayden. Although she is def a girl and has some major attitude and hormone...watch out teen years. I am beyond blessed to be her mom.

Being a mom isnt easy at any age, becoming a mom at 19 is even harder. Kelsey has shown me so much the past 6 years and has made me realize how strong I am.

I love you Bug-- you will always be my little ladybug :)

Blah

I havent blogged in a while. I have started about 10 posts in my head, but I never finish them or actually type them. We have had a BUSY 2 months and I don't see it slowing down anytime soon. It has also been a very trying and tiring month already. I am  physically and emotionally drained. I need to give my house some serious attention cleaning wise, but life has gotten in the way :)

Kelsey loves school and seems to really be learning a lot. She is so tired after school each night and weekends are spent catching up on rest. Her 6th birthday is this Saturday and I really can't believe that she will be 6 already. Hayden is getting bigger everyday and he is turning into such a man. I can't believe he went from baby to boy over night. He is talking like crazy now, and repeats EVERYTHING! Travis has been working 3 jobs the past 2 months.... He works his normal full time job during the day, a contract labor job when needed( but is needed a lot!) and a part time job with an electrical company close to home most evenings and weekends. Needless to say we don't see much of each other these days. It is stressful and very tiring.

To add to it I am car shopping... I got into a accident and my car was totalled so now I have to find a new one. My lovely insurance company is ending my rental car today and I still have no car or payment for my car :) So as of tonight I will be carless and not happy! Atleast the last 2 weeks have been nice...they gave me a 2012 Dodge Charger to drive---can we say fun :)

At some point things will change and I know all of this is happening for a reason. I have to stay positive and keep my head up, but sometimes I want to crumble. I keep telling myself that my family is healthy and very blessed.

I hope everyone has a great weekend! and I am hoping to start posting again soon.

Kindergarten :)

We have made it through Kelsey's first week and a half of school! She seems to really be having a great time. She is exhausted though in the afternoons so bed time comes really early. It is good for mommy though...I get a little down time after the kids go to bed. I thought I would have a huge problem getting up in the mornings to get Kelsey, Hayden and myself out the door and have to actually worry about what she looks like. I have found as long as I do as much as I can the night before the mornings go very smoothly. It is so funny to pick Hayden up from daycare and hear him say "lets so get Kelsey, some days my mom drops her off at home, some days I pick her up from my parents house. It all depends on my work schedule.

Here are some pictures of her on the first day:

Cobwebs..

I am still here!!

I have just been SO busy the last couple of weeks, months. Kelsey starts school next week, so we have been consummed doing all things related to school. Last weekend we all spent Saturday and Sunday at the barn, so that left a limited amount of time for laundry and house cleaning. Work has been crazy busy the past couple of months...we finally got some more providers to treat patients so things are starting to level out.

I have a million pictures to share with everyone and hopefully soon I can start getting them all on here. I want to do a summer post of everything we did, but that might take until Christmas the rate I am going.

Tonight Travis and I are headed to school for a new parent social...shall be very interesting...just like the kids pool party yesterday afternoon.

Hopefully I will be back soon, but until then I hope everyone is doing ok!

London 2012

Is anyone as excited as I am for the Oympics to start tonight??

I cant wait!

I wish they would come back to the states and more specifically Georgia. I was pretty young during the Atlanta Olympics, but I remember them. I just wish I could have appreciated them more.

So what is your favorite event?

Mine is the equestrian ( DUH)... my other favorites are gymnastics and I like the diving. I am sad that equestrian isn't one of the sports that gets any prime time coverage, but I have downloaded the NBC Olympic app and I am ready!!

I hope yall all have a great weekend!

Holiday Week

I have so much to update yall on, the problem is I don't even know where to start.

In my last post I said we were going to be house sitting for a week and with the holiday and work and just being busy I haven't had time to write a meaningful post.

House/dog sitting was fun! It was nice to get away from our house for a few days and we treated it like a mini vacation. I got to spend some much needed time with my best friend, we went to the lake, went swimming, got a new hair do and just relaxed.

We went out with our friends on their cabin cruiser to watch fireworks on the lake for the 4th. It was a lot of fun, fireworks on the lake is def something everyone needs to see. The kids loved being in the water and swimming.

I cut all my hair off... well not all of it but like 5 inches. Then I put red and blonde highlights in it. I really like it and I needed a change. Travis wasn't sure at first but now when he sees me he walks around saying hey sexy hair...I guess that is a good thing, right? Kelsey and Hayden both got a haircut also, 3 for the price of 1!

The kids and I spent a day with my best friend also. We took the kids to Catch Air, wow I thought the kids would LOVE it....well they did and Sarah and I both got a work out. We went to lunch at Chick-fl-a and while we were eating we had a spur of the moment idea to go visit the cupcake shop we did our class at. I had been trying to talk Travis into going there but it was a big fail...so we went! Still good :)

Hayden at Catch Air...
Hayden and I had to come home on Wednesday afternoon to get ready for work on Thursday, I worked 2 days then headed back to be with Travis and Kelsey for the weekend and finish house sitting. We came home on Sunday afternoon to catch up on laundry and get the house back together. It was a great week, but we are so glad to be home :)
