Vrooommm...

Hayden is a boy...well his anatomy says so...and so does his attitude! He is a funny little man. He acts just like most boys do though, like to play in the dirt, throw rocks (or sticks), loves animals, loves trucks or tractors and cars!

My dad is in the process of building a 55 Chevy...a long process. Well things are coming together but not without Hayden's help. He recently figured out he can get inside the car, it doesn't have seats in there yet but that didn't stop him from trying to drive.

Here are some pictures my mom took while they were working :)

being sick sucks.

I am so tired of people in my family being sick! We have been passing this stomach bug around to eachother for the last 2 weeks. I got it yesterday and wow it is not fun.

Yesterday, Hayden had his surgery for his tubes. He is a champ and did great, hopefully they work and he won't have ear infections anymore. *fingers crossed*

It feels strange to be at work because in the last 2 weeks I have work 5 days, I feel like a stranger at my own desk.

I really don't have anything else to say today...so I hope everyone is having a great Tuesday!

Updates

I have been out of work a LOT the past week so I haven't had time to even think about blogging.

- Hayden has been a sick little boy.. started off as a stomach bug...fast forward a week..and yesterday after him throwing up all over me I took him to the doctor. He has a double ear infection... We were lucky enough to get in with the ENT the same day and he is scheduled to have tubes put in on Monday. I am so ready for him to feel better and not have to live on antibiotics.

- We got Kelsey's test scores back from her assessment. Her overall score is a 98 out of a possible 99! I am thrilled and so proud of her. She is such a smart little girl!

- Last week, since I was out with Hayden and then off on Friday (for Hayden and Kelsey was out of school) we headed down to spend the night with Travis at his dads. It was nice to spend some time with him :) The kids loved spending time with their grandparents.

Friday afternoon, I went to get a haircut and took Hayden with me...It was somewhat surreal for me to drive down the roads I used to drive everyday. It felt like I was dreaming. I don't know why I go over there all the time. I think it has finally hit me that we have moved on with our lives and grown up..

- I am on a puppy potty training war path! This little dog needs to figure it out now. I think I am getting annoying to him because I demand he goes outside every 20 mins when we are home. Hopefully something will click in his head really soon or I might go crazy.

I hope everyone is having a great week! The weather here in GA is crazy this year...its like 74 and sunny today!

3 years :)

We made it! haha...I said that to my mom and she said back to me that the 3rd year is the hardest...whoohoo.

Happy Anniversary to the love of my life and my best friend! We carried on the tradition of having dominos pizza for dinner, because we are cool and thats what we did on our wedding night :)

I tried to write this on Tuesday, but for some reason my computer had a mind of it's own.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine's Day!

This is what the kids woke up to today :)

They were excited, Hayden just wanted to eat his...but I didn't think his teachers would appreciate a 20 month old hyped up on chocolate at 7:30am!

Kelsey was very excited to take her Valentines to school today. We were working on the names last night (she wrote them all by herself!) and she picked out certain ones for certain people. This one is to her "friend" Chase. Arranged marriage in 20 years is all I have to say :)

I made a peanut free valentine's day trail mix for Hayden's class party last night. It turned out pretty cute...we saved some for us! You could easily switch things around to make it work with any holiday.

Ingredients:
-4 cups of mini pretzels  I used the square ones so I only did 3 cups
-4 cups of strawberry cheerios  I used regular bc I had them, and Kroger didn't have the others, 3 cups
- 2 cups of yogurt covered rasins
-2 cups of dried cranberries/cherries  I used cranrasins
- 1 box of chocolate teddy grahams Kroger didn't have these either! I used chocolate animal crackers
- 2 cups of valentines m&ms   I used the whole bag minus a few that went in my mouth :)

February Photo Challenge.... I am slacking big time! Today the 14th is heart. I was lucky because this is what the doctors at my work did for breakfast!

Monday Funday!

I hope everyone is having fun on this wonderful Monday!

How was your weekend?

Ours was pretty uneventful. Winter has finally come to GA, it was pretty chilly this weekend. Then I was listening to the weather this morning and it said expect the high 60s later this week.. Ummm...Hello weather people, my sinuses need a break! We decided to keep 1 kitty. The others disappeared and we haven't seen them since, so we thought the least we could do was let the little one in.. We aren't sure if it is a boy or girl but Travis named it Jinx. I will be taking it to the vet in a few weeks to get it all checked out :) Tonka loves the cat, they play with each other and chase each other around the house. Jinx mastered the litter box in one day...I wish potty training Tonka was this easy.

Saturday afternoon, my sister in law came over for dinner. We had a good time, it was nice to spend time with my niece. She is a busy little girl :)  Then Travis and I watched Breaking Dawn pt 1. I saw it in theaters, but he didn't and I really had no problem watching it again.

Like I said our weekend didn't consist of much, but I love every minute that I get to spend with my family.

Does anyone have any big Valentine's day plans? not. us. Travis will be gone all week, so we will be celebrating this weekend along with our anniversary!

Unanswered Prayers

I am sure you have some. I think everyone probably does. I was driving home from work a few days ago and the song "Unanswered Prayers" by Garth Brooks came on the radio. I am just singing along and it hits me...this song it really powerful. At least to me at the time, it is what I needed to hear.

Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers
Remember when you're talkin' to the man upstairs
That just because he doesn't answer doesn't mean he don't care
Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers

She wasn't quite the angel that I remembered in my dreams
And I could tell that time had changed me
Inn her eyes too it seemed
We tried to talk about the old days
There wasn't much we could recall
I guess the Lord knows what he's doin' after all

And as she walked away and I looked at my wife
And then and there I thanked the good Lord
For the gifts in my life

[Chorus]

Some of God's greatest gifts are all too often unanswered...
Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers

So I have been struggling with the "whys" of the world these days. Why did that happen? Why didn't that happen? Why do I even bother praying for that because it won't happen? Why doesn't anything good ever happen to me? I have been throwing myself a little big pity party about life the past couple of days. Then I heard this song and it helped me clear my head.

The things I worry about are always taken care of, even though I worry and stress so much it is always taken care of. I know that God is watching over me and my family and he has a plan for us. We all want to know what the plan is, but that is part of learning to trust in Him.

I think we all should be thanking God for unanswered prayers. I know he is listening to them and he is doing what he knows is right. We might not like it at the time, but everything happens for a reason! ( I really am starting to believe that that saying is MY motto for this year)

Sun..2/8

Here is my "Sun" picture from yesterday. Kelsey was being a model after her kindergarten testing yesterday, she looks so grown up in this picture. She def. smeared her lip gloss all over her lips right before I took this.

Just call me the cat lady

On Saturday night we have 2 cats wonder into our yard... this is very strange for us because we live in the back woods and not many things "wonder" into our yard. Needless to say they were very sweet and as soon as Travis started talking to them they came running. They were both purring and meowing like crazy. So what do I do... feed them tuna.

Within about 10 minutes I knew my allergies were against the kitties. I had a cat growing up but I guess my allergies have evolved since then. I opened the front door and they came right in..umm no. It was raining Saturday night so I put a box with a towel in it on the front porch. They stayed all night, and were very happy to see us the next morning.

and they haven't left yet...

they have went and told their friends about us and are bringing them back with them. Last night Kelsey got out of the car and said "I think the cat changed colors" no Kelsey that is a different cat... AHHHHH!

The worst of it is the smallest one was climbing our back door and hanging on the window looking at me, kinda freaked me out a little. I am worried the coyotes are going to get them, and I really don't want the kids to see that. I don't want them to go to the animal shelter and get put down either... we will see what happens....

I put a picture of them in my photo challenge post.

Catching up :)

I am updating the pictures I have from the last couple of days. I have missed a few, but something is better than nothing, right?  I hope everyone is having a great week!
